The ** NEW ** BMW CS Registry email list is now operational!

You are welcome to join us. Visit the CS Registry Email List Info page to subscribe to the list and manage your subscription. You will be sent a results email and need to confirm that it is really you that is trying to subscribe. Once you send a confirmation email, you are "on the list" and you'll begin to receive a daily barrage of E9 chatter and other stuff to feed your addiction to coupes. We are keeping the subscription list private to hopefully cut down on Spam.

Please read the following Administrative Policies. Keep in mind that these policies undergo change as need be, so check back to this link often. Please also keep in mind that this is not the Roman Public Forum and is not a small E9 flag-flying tribal democratic country. If you have a complaint, you may try to email Art, but don't expect too much (there is a very dry pun here - try the email links). Rats! They work! Oh well........

Some Administrative Policies to remember:

1. This is a private email list, hereafter list. This list is not affiliated with the BMW CCA nor any other club or business that you can think of who has rules that you might mistakenly think we should follow. See our Disclaimer for further details.

2. This list is generally for the dissemination of information about CS Coupes and related vehicles (it's OK to mention your Jaguar, Studebaker, Mercedes Benz, Bavaria/E3 and other cars on occasion, if you want to and we encourage it). We all know that it is difficult to stick exactly to a restricted subject but please stay as close to the 1960s-1970s 4 & 6 cylinder BMWs as possible, for the most part. On the other side of the coin, how many times can you discuss tuning carbs.......??????????

3. Please, no coupe bashing - It hurts people's feelings. See rule number 4 for more.

4. Please, no model or other club bashing is permitted on this list. (e.g., 2002, M3, BMW CCA, SSR, Mercedes, Buick, etc.). Not everyone is lucky enough to have a coupe or at least appreciate one enough to want to ask about it.

5. Please, no character bashing. If you dislike someone please keep those feelings private.

6. There are representatives of a number of businesses dealing with BMW products on this private list. It is entirely possible that there are list members who are unhappy with these businesses for one reason or another. There are private individuals on this list who might offer parts for sale and it is entirely possible that there are people on the list who are unhappy with these people as well. The list is not an appropriate venue for such discussions; there is simply no way that these matters can ever be satisfactorily resolved in such a contest -- so please don't start.

7. We have a classifieds ads link. Paid Members of the BMW CS Registry including those who own and run businesses, are permitted and encouraged to post ads to the list.

  • We don't know everybody. It is impossible.
  • A good rule of thumb, if you are worried, is to agree on the price, agree on the condition, make sure you can recognized the part again as the one you sent should it be returned.
  • Use good business sense and please be honorable in your dealings.

8. We cannot and will not mediate deals gone bad.

9. We would encourage you after sampling the list for a modicum of time to please send in your dues so that you can receive the sporadically produced either four times per year or two double issues newsletter. There is much more specific information that gets printed than what you see on the email.

10. Once you have subscribed to the email list if you reveal yourself to have apparent personal agendas that List Administrators can even remotely interpret as self-serving, intentionally acrimonious, or otherwise deleterious to the CS Registry as they (the List Administrators) see it, you will be first warned about your behavior and if it continues then you will be unsubscribed. We hate to have to say this but it comes with the territory. Sometimes it isn't fun to be El Jefe, El Patron, Ma'daib, (I'll check the spelling soon and this is what obscure reference to what book become movie?) an Agent to the Administrator for Natural Selection, or the List Administrator.

11. Fridays are FUNNY FRIDAY and can be considered the free-for-all day to post trivial stupid stuff. Please try to remember to put in the header if the content MAY be offensive (e.g. FF:may offend!) Since we are all human and are struck by things we find amusing all seven days of the week, and are blatantly flagrant about posting funny things whenever we feel like it, we don't stick to this rule very closely. If that bothers you, we can give you the URLs of some groups that adhere to it almost religiously. They don't laugh very often. Other days that you might see observed with respect to humor are <HDH> or Hump Day Humor on Wednesdays. If your post isn't of technical nature, try to remember to put in <WOB> for "Waste of Bandwidth" if that is appropriate. We all forget to do it, don't worry if you forget once in awhile too.

Below for your enjoyment is a shortened version of the list rules as submitted by one of our CS Registry members with an obvious sense of humor. We liked them so much that we are including them for you all to read.

Zyl  3: Thou shalt not post messages, or "reply to" messages, without a subject heading relevant to the content of your message.
