So, here goes. I was rooting(interesting word) around in the trunk and noticed I have a jack but can't find the tool that unscrews the lug nuts. Probably I put it somewhere where I would remember. I don't. So does anyone have a spare to sell? And, I purchased an original Blaupunkt euro model radio. Does anyone have photos of an original radio installed in a coupe with out air conditioning? The radio is more for show than for go and I want it to look right. Thanks in advance, Steve ONeill 74 CSi **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Message-ID: <26CEB178A6954D1FA7859BB7EB4742A0@mediacenter> Well, while I await my seats from the upholstery shop, I am off on other projects. I have seen a picture of a coupe's trunk lid (inside view) that had two flat lights affixed at about the mid-tool tray level - one on each side. I am often frustrated with the stock trunk light's location - it's almost worthless when one has "stuff" in the trunk that is pushed toward the back, thus effectively blocking the available light. So, on my last trip to the local "U-Pull-It" yard, I secured two trunk lights from donor E28 series cars. I cobbled the lights together - in series - with the existing trunk light, using the stock hot lead from FUSE 4, and using the trunk switch to provide the grounding. I then tested the "theory". Well, something is amiss. Now all three lights do light up, but at a very dim level. They do come on/go off when the trunk (ground interrupter) switch is activated. All the lights are the torpedo style, 5 watts each. I tested the new combo with and without the courtesy dome light activated - no difference. I disconnected the add-on lights and everything went back to normal. So, what is happening here? Am I overloading the circuit by adding 10 watts of demand? Is three-four feet of additional wire that much of an additional drain? Do I want higher(lower?) wattage bulbs? Do I want to possibly double the fuse amperage for this circuit from 8 amps to 16 amps? Any help with this situation would be appreciated. Electrical "things" are just NOT my forte! You have effectively given each of the bulbs only 4V (12/3). If you wire them in parallel, each light will get 12 volts. Shake them every four or five year cycle and they forget all the old lessons. The same thing happened hundreds of years ago to those Dutch dudes with their tulip bulbs. But who remembers. 20 years ago my Aunt and Uncle sold a lovely one bedroom apt in Tudor City just down the street from Grand Central Station with a view of the private park and the UN. They were lucky to get $85K after jumping through hoops for the buyers. Fast forward to four years ago and the same apt goes for $500K plus - bidding wars the whole insanity. Really fast forward to tomorrow. Same apt - waiting/hoping/desperate for a buyer. Selling price, waaay below the $500K +. That's what happens when a home becomes a house becomes and investment becomes retirement fund. Good luck. That's why I despair when I read articles(not so much lately) that our exquisite coupes, the best kept secret in the car world, are appreciating. It's not that we don't already appreciate them. That's why we bought them - no to make a killing. Thank god our non-light weights didn't show up in the article in the Roundel that arrived today. Any thoughts? At the Barrett-Jackson car auctions in Scottsdale. As usual a lot of interesting cars, very few BMWs (as some of you know my personal favorite marque) though there was a creampuff 97 850Ci - don't know what it sold for though. Nary a 180K CSL in the 6 tents worth of cars. Quite a few hoped-for 6-figure Mopars and Z-28's though (!?) My observation? Cars sold through Thursday were not drawing the numbers, at all. Granted these are not the "high ticket" vehicles that B-J reserves sale for on Friday/Saturday, but as an example, a 65 big healey for 29k? Last year I saw 2 or three of these in similar number 2 (old cars price guide condition) go for twice that. For those who pay attention to prices, the plain folks cars are down there like 50%! If my little blurb prompts curiosity, the Barrett Jackson site reports gavel prices. I also have a note in my shop manual that a '65 ignition/doors used a Dominion Lock Co. blank HF20; 63Y for trunk. By the way, not the same as for a 2002; HF 28 The ignition code was expressed as ##X## if that's any help. Hazy memory of having a VW blank cut at one time - the grip was offset the opposite way, but the business end was the same cross section - they cut the excess length off. You may have a harder time getting original blanks cut as they are steel, not brass. Not really fixable, either. So, any of you have an extra pedal you'd part with? It looks as if the E3's have the same pedal, so if you have a "four-door coupe" in the drive..... Let me know. I've sourced new a new pedal - don't ask what I've found. Ouch! Thanks, Gary Burke 1973 3.0 CS +2240356+ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It has a little loop at the end that slides over the end of the gas pedal metal bar that works well. It did not cost that much but every once in a while, it will slide off or I will kick it off the bar when staring the car. Otherwise, if I did not tell anyone it was a modified pedal one would not know. The Hound "In The Last Colony" and we have ice and snow today. BTW: I checked Bessie's blanket and she is warm. -- "gary.jane" wrote: Well, now that I have gutted the interior of my coupe in preparation for laying a new rug set, new underlayment, and installing reupholstered seats, I have discovered that probably since I have owned the coupe, the accelerator pedal is broken. That is, the rubber "tube" that mounts the pedal to the arm is separated from the pedal itself. The pedal has been merely sliding up and down the arm - effective, but hardly reliable. Not really fixable, either. So, any of you have an extra pedal you'd part with? It looks as if the E3's have the same pedal, so if you have a "four-door coupe" in the drive..... Let me know.
