Message-ID: <000001c9ccf4$7cb038e0$7610aaa0$@net> * I have reluctantly decided to part with my 3.0CS. I bought her in from the original owner in 1978 w/ 8000 miles. I installed Miller Norburn Springs, shocks & rear sway bar and drove her regularly for 6 years when I got a 535i for daily driver. I have driven her lightly since. She now has 38,000 actual miles. In 2001 I had Ray Korman work his magic. This is from his website as he is brokering the car for me. * Korman BMW Stage 2 Engine, Dyno Tuned * 3.3 liter conversion * Lightened rods, fully ported head, balanced and blueprinted * Triple Weber 40 DCOE's * Schrick 282 cam * Headers * Lightweight Flywheel * Heavy Duty Clutch * Electronic Ignition Conversion * Korman Roadsport Suspension (Bilsteins, springs, larger sway bars) * Short Shift Kit * Stainless Steel Brake Lines "Time Capsule" 3.0 CS mechanically restored by Korman in 2001. Extremely low mileage on rebuild. Older repaint, original interior, some "patina" from age. No rust, car has spent most of its life in storage in the Southern US. Approximately $37,000.00 in receipts from work done at Korman provided to new owner, plus original window sticker and other documentation. Just serviced, brand new Michelins. They were mostly sold in South Africa and Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) where they were again rebranded as the Cheetah to get rid of acres of unsold cars from BMW South Africa. At one stage you could'nt give them away and now they are very rare. In fact, very little BMW anything past a few later models and a few 2002s, some of which were tiis. Swap meet offerings were similarly limited. Nice event, fun time, but had to settle for ogling a few cool Volvos and Saabs. I did see a very overpriced BSA 650 that got my attention. Good beer, too. The event included an autocross, which showcased a race prepped 2002 sort of waxing most others. Lots of very unskilled drivers, but easy to talk when you don't have a car of your own on the premises. I was there to support and transport a friend and his restored Volvo 1800ES. Maybe next year I'll come again with a BMW in tow.
